For more than four decades, Eli has planned, designed, and implemented food service, laundry, and back-of-house facilities throughout the world. He is regarded for his aesthetic, creative designs and his precision in carrying out complex projects with a strict adherence to budgets and schedules. His experience is comprehensive; it is rooted in solving the same operational, financial, and equipment issues that owners and operators face every day. As a result, Eli’s projects are cited both for their architectural excellence and forward-thinking designs, which address practical operational issues.
From 1973 to 1976, Eli worked for the internationally known hotel design group, Amimpex, Inc. Due to his fluency in five major languages and the fast growth of the international hotel market, he was given sole responsibility for designing and implementing projects for hotels throughout the world: InterContinental, Sheraton, Hyatt, and Hilton. Subsequently, he formed his own design and consulting firm, PLANIT, in Coral Gables, Florida. The company provided design and engineering services to national and international hotels. In 1978, Eli joined TRA as executive vice-president and partner. He was responsible for conceptual designs and owner-operator relations during the design phases. His experience and reputation in the hospitality industry helped TRA grow from a three-person company into the second largest hotel design firm in the country. In the process, TRA received a number of industry awards. In 1984, Eli started Systems Design International, Inc., a food service and laundry design and consulting firm. Throughout every phase of a project, Eli is personally involved, ensuring clients receive the highest quality of service.
